Back for Good

Hi everyone,

Firstly, I would like to wish all my readers a happy new year! 2015!! This is just a quick post to let y'all know that I'm back on the blogging scene. I started this blog back in March 2011 and I posted (quite scarcely) for about 2 years. Now, I'm back as an adult (I turned 19 today) with better ideas, so this will no longer just be an art blog, I will be posting just about anything.

There are a lot of layers to me and I want to show this on my blog. For example, there might be some food posts, day to day life post as a black female engineering student, faith, fashion, hair, beauty and of course, art. I've always thought about starting a daily vlog channel on YouTube because I really feel like it will entertain many. However, it seems like more hassle than it's worth so for now, I'll stick to blogging. 

Im very excited about this new (or should I say, renewed) journey and I can't wait to see where it will lead me!

Art GCSE Sketches

Here are some sketches from my GCSE sketchbook. These include some eye sketches, my Leonardo Da Vinci artist copies, shell drawings and a rose drawing in comparison to original image. These drawings were done back when I was 14 and 15 years old.

Bye 2012, Hello Bigger, Better Things

Firstly, I would like to wish every reader a merry Christmas and a happy new year! I almost feel slightly embarrassed to be typing this right now. My last post was in April. Seriously??

Lets think back to April.. Back then, I hadn't done the majority of my GCSEs, I hadn't had my prom, I was still in High School. To think I had the whole of summer to do drawings but I never did.

I always say to myself "I have no time," "I'm busy" but the reality is procrastination has become such a big part of me to the point that I sometimes end up getting nothing done at all. Even the things I'm meant to be "busy" doing.

But now I've decided to organise myself so much better. After all I am only 16, but that's no excuse because there are so many business ideas I have that I really need to try out and to practice but the only way it will actually happen is if I just get on with it.

There will be some changes on my blog:
1) It will be updated very regularly unlike before.
2) Since about October 2012, I've actually started painting using acrylics. This was a massive step-up for me from pencil drawings but it is one I was proud to make and I can't wait to post some paintings on here!
3) When I get a bit more extra time, I will begin to take commissions. In the past, many people have asked me to draw them but i never took it seriously but this will change as I begin to take my work more seriously.
4) I make phone cases! This needs a post of its own which I will make in the future but I customise phone cases so i'll be posting these here also.

I just want to thank the people that take the time to read my blog posts, to compliment my drawings and to criticise them. I really appreciate constructive feedback and I'm so grateful. This is the beginning of bigger better things. Much love and happy 2013!

Kate Moss Sketch

Hey guys! So I decided to try something different with this Kate Moss drawing of her on the cover of Vogue! I didn't work in my usual tone with blending and all but I simply did quick cross-hatching. The hair was simply scribbled on and I think this was done in about an hour.

I will upload the video soon but in the mean time, here are some 'step-by-step' shots I took while doing it.

I WON THE CONTEST!

I am so ecstatic right now because I won Merrill Kazanjian's contest!

Also suspicions were gotten when people thought I cheated because I gained a lot of subscribers. However, I have no idea how I did, I guess I was extremely fortunate with this contest. It was perfectly timed and I will forever be grateful of this contest. I did not cheat, I can assure you that. In fact, I didn't know it was possible to cheat with getting subscribers. I am just happy I have gotten the subscribers and I want to congragulate everyone that entered, it was fun and I really enjoyed it!
