Bye 2012, Hello Bigger, Better Things

Firstly, I would like to wish every reader a merry Christmas and a happy new year! I almost feel slightly embarrassed to be typing this right now. My last post was in April. Seriously??

Lets think back to April.. Back then, I hadn't done the majority of my GCSEs, I hadn't had my prom, I was still in High School. To think I had the whole of summer to do drawings but I never did.

I always say to myself "I have no time," "I'm busy" but the reality is procrastination has become such a big part of me to the point that I sometimes end up getting nothing done at all. Even the things I'm meant to be "busy" doing.

But now I've decided to organise myself so much better. After all I am only 16, but that's no excuse because there are so many business ideas I have that I really need to try out and to practice but the only way it will actually happen is if I just get on with it.

There will be some changes on my blog:
1) It will be updated very regularly unlike before.
2) Since about October 2012, I've actually started painting using acrylics. This was a massive step-up for me from pencil drawings but it is one I was proud to make and I can't wait to post some paintings on here!
3) When I get a bit more extra time, I will begin to take commissions. In the past, many people have asked me to draw them but i never took it seriously but this will change as I begin to take my work more seriously.
4) I make phone cases! This needs a post of its own which I will make in the future but I customise phone cases so i'll be posting these here also.

I just want to thank the people that take the time to read my blog posts, to compliment my drawings and to criticise them. I really appreciate constructive feedback and I'm so grateful. This is the beginning of bigger better things. Much love and happy 2013!

Kate Moss Sketch

Hey guys! So I decided to try something different with this Kate Moss drawing of her on the cover of Vogue! I didn't work in my usual tone with blending and all but I simply did quick cross-hatching. The hair was simply scribbled on and I think this was done in about an hour.

I will upload the video soon but in the mean time, here are some 'step-by-step' shots I took while doing it.

I WON THE CONTEST!

I am so ecstatic right now because I won Merrill Kazanjian's contest!

Just in case you haven't seen my contest entry, here it is

Also suspicions were gotten when people thought I cheated because I gained a lot of subscribers. However, I have no idea how I did, I guess I was extremely fortunate with this contest. It was perfectly timed and I will forever be grateful of this contest. I did not cheat, I can assure you that. In fact, I didn't know it was possible to cheat with getting subscribers. I am just happy I have gotten the subscribers and I want to congragulate everyone that entered, it was fun and I really enjoyed it!

Happy New Year!

I just want to wish everyone a very happy new year! Its 2012 and I know big things will happen this year, I just can't wait :D

But first I would like to list a few points kinda like resolutions and things I would like for this year.

• Its my birthday in 5 DAYS! That's right, I would finally be 16 years old. (6th Jan)
• I want to do a last drawing as a 15 year old ^.^
• I've ordered a camcorder to record me drawing so I can more easily post videos unto Youtube
• This year I will get my GCSE grades
• This year I will go to College
• I would like to experiment with coloured pencil drawings
• I would like to improve the way I draw proportions
• I would like to be able to prioritize better.

Just a heads-up, I have a million and one exams coming up in the next few months up until June so drawings will be less frequent and more focus on my books.
